About Ellie Blum Photography
Hello! I’m Ellie Mae. The photographer behind most of the portraits on this site. I have always been in love with photography since I can remember. All through my childhood years I loved being in front and behind the camera. My mom would say that I was a camera ham, and I still am! The need to be near a camera never faded though, and now I find myself in the business that I have loved for so many years. I love capturing memories for expectant mothers, or the beautiful new born baby she is cradling in her arms. I love trying to get a child to smile, or even trying to get them to sit down for the pictures! I love the chase! Taking those all important Senior pictures, or the family pet is something I love to do also!. I began shooting wedding portraits back in February 2003, for a photographer in Virginia Beach VA, by the name of Michael Wade (WadeStudios.com). Mr. Wade and another local photographer Michael Hiser took me in under their wings, and helped me figure out how to pose clients, and what to do with studio lights and all that snazzy stuff. If it wasn’t for those two wonderful teachers and amazing photographers, I wouldn’t be where I am today, the main photographer in my own business! So, to Mr. Wade and Mr. Hiser, THANK YOU!
When I photograph your wedding or sometimes on-site photo shoots, I bring my husband Dave. He is my partner and assistant. He helps me gather groups of people together, and puts the lights up and breaks things down for me so I’m not missing any important moments. Dave also carries a camera with him during the weddings. He is NOT a professional, yet anyway, but he has been shooting with me for the last three years and his photography has greatly improved and I am so very proud of him. Thank you Dave for being there for me and my business adventures and being a wonderful partner in life and work! Our prices are highly competitive and are available upon request.
